ON 23:59:59-THE LAST SECOND OF THE YEAR

I'm a very curious person and I have always wondered what people do on the last second of the year. Upon this insatiable curiosity that certainly cannot get me killed cos I am not a cat, I made a couple of discoveries or assumptions.

1.SOCIAL MEDIA
On the last second of the year, people Facebook like they have never done before. It is the only time of the year that almost 50% of your friends will be online. well, it isn't that Facebook has got an elixir of life so that people can cross over to the new year. Everyone is actually waiting for the clock to turn to 0:00:00 so that they can update a new message status. Seriously?

2.FIRECRACKERS
Well, lots of Ghanaians still prefer the traditional western way of ushering the new year,. So, on the last second of the year, People fire away beautiful firecrackers to welcome the new year with a blast. I love it!

3.CLUBS AND DRINKING SPOTS
Some Ghanaians are always looking for a reason to get boozed and a new year is no exception. En masse of people throng beer bars and clubs to spend the last second of the year drinking their hearts out in ecstasy. It's a new after all die be die!

4.PRAYERS
Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die at least not before the new year. For most people, it is only on new years eve that they remember God. The cold ands of death seem a colder on this night and scare a lot of people to the Church or Mosque to pray. Seriously? You think God is a Fulani man,,,Lol.
